The City Tower Cycle Hub has recently opened in Picadilly Gardens, Manchester. Cycle-Works were asked to install the wheeling ramps that lead from the entrance level down to the actual cycle parking area in this basement parking below the tower.
The hub will allow cyclists to park their bikes in guaranteed spaces with the peace of mind of high security with CCTV and swipe card entry.
The hub has been delivered by Transport for Greater Manchester in partnership with Bruntwood and will operate on a membership basis. Membership costs £100 a year for parking and £200 a year including showers. The hub was delivered by Globe Construction’s special works team during a ten-week build programme. The basement project included improved drainage systems, flooring repairs, complete M&E services installation, partitions and wall finishes throughout.
Cycle-Works were contracted by Globe Construction specifically to install the unique wheeling ramps for the facility.
