These bikes, spotted during a boat tour in Amsterdam, will be wet and icy when their owners return to collect them.
The authorities should have gone to Cycle-Works, where a range of weatherproof bike parking options such as lockers, shelters and multi-bike units would have provided a useful alternative.
Admittedly, snow is as rare in Amsterdam as it is in the UK, but there is plenty of bad weather to contend with, so cyclists appreciate every bit of help with making their everyday life easier and more enjoyable.
